I was really surprised by this combination lock. Built from cast stainless steel it appears to be of above average construction. I liked the first one so much I have since bought a second one and looking for where I can use more of these. Many electronic locks cost much more than this but I doubt any are built as bullet proof as this one.

This is a great lock system. You can use either key or lock to open the door. It comes with three sets of keys which is really good as I can give one to my son as well. For setup it's really simple it comes with straightforward instructions that have pictures as well. The combination was initially factory preset as a 6-digit code 125690 and when you open the screw in the back the top opens and reveals little connectors that are 6 gold and 6 silver. You place the gold ones on the number combination you want. Another thing I liked was that it does not need a battery or electricity to work. It does come with all screws and stuff you need I just needed to get a screwdriver.

I got this keypad deadbolt lock to go on a backyard shed for which we wanted some security, and I think it will work well for this. The mechanical lock mechanism (all operated with specific parts internally) appealed to me, as I won't have to worry about a battery going dead as with digital keypad locks. I successfully changed the combination from the factory default and confirmed that it functions. Reading through the instructions, You can set up a combination of 4 to 6 digits/letters, but they can be punched in with any combo. For example, if your combo is 12345A, you can enter 53A421 and it will unlock. But if you just mash all the buttons, it will not unlock. The appearance is great and the unit has a nice heft to it. If you have a door without pre-drilled holes, it comes with a cut template.

If you're looking for a very well built and aesthetically pleasing mechanical deadbolt, then look no further!!! We had been wanting to replace a double-keyed deadbolt that had been on our home's terrace door for over twenty years. It's built like a tank, so we will easily be using this mechanical deadbolt for decades to come.

I was considering another mechanical lock but it was out of stock. Then I found this one and it is MUCH better. The other lock required drilling extra holes in the door while this lock fits into the large hole found on most doors. It works quite well and I am very pleased with it and highly recommend it.
